MIKE RATLIFF JOINS NEW PEOPLES BANK AS CHIEF BANKING OFFICER AND EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

New Peoples Bank is pleased to announce that Mike Ratliff has joined the bank as Chief Banking Officer and Executive Vice President.

New Peoples Bank Announces Bart Long has been Named to the Board of Directors

New Peoples Bank is pleased to announce that Bart Long has been named to the board of directors.
Long began his adult life by serving in the United States Navy, where he was a member of the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington D.C. After completing his service, Long returned home to Bristol and began his career, growing his real estate auction firm. Long resides in Bristol where he operates Bart Long & Associates Realty and Auction, along with various other real estate and business interests throughout southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee.

 

 

 

New Peoples Bank Announces the Promotion of Landon McGlothlin

C. Todd Asbury, President and CEO of New Peoples Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Landon McGlothlin to Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer/Chief Information Officer.
McGlothlin officially assumed the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer/Chief Information Officer on January 24, 2023. McGlothlin has been with New Peoples Bank since 2005, previously serving as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

Virginia Bankers Association Education Foundation Awards Graham High School Senior $2,500 College Scholarship

New Peoples Bank hosted students in person and virtually and provided resources and information, teaching the students about banking, financial services, career opportunities in the industry, and the vital role banks play in their communities. Students were asked to write an essay about their experience and fourteen scholarships were awarded based on the merit of the essays. Joe Tyson, a senior at Graham High School in Bluefield, VA was selected as this year’s regional winner and received a $2,500 scholarship from the VBA Education Foundation.

New Peoples Bank Employee Discrimination Lawsuit Dismissed in its Entirety

New Peoples Bank is pleased to announce that the employment discrimination lawsuit filed in the United States District Court in Abingdon, Virginia against the bank by a former employee was officially dismissed on April 20, 2022, as having no merit as to any of the claims. The court found that the Bank was entitled to summary judgement and dismissed the lawsuit prior to trial, because the individual failed to prove any of the claims.

Marjorie Tester joins New Peoples Bank as First Vice President and Market Manager for Bristol VA/TN Market

New Peoples Bank is pleased to announce that Marjorie Tester has joined the bank as First Vice President and Market Manager serving the Bristol, Virginia/Tennessee market. Tester has over 34 years of banking experience, most recently with First Horizon Bank in Bristol, Tennessee. She has held numerous roles throughout her financial career including Customer Service Representative, Branch Manager, Lender, Private Banker, and Investment Advisor. Tester currently holds a series 6 Investment License for both Virginia and Tennessee and is past president of Tennessee Bankers Association's Johnson City Chapter.
